the circle

most of what is offered for the soul now is fast, bright, and alone. an app, a hack, a weekend that promises to fix you by monday. it does not hold, because it was never rooted in anything that lasts.

a plant is not in a hurry. it knows things we have lost: how to draw strength from the dark, how to flower without apology, how to let go when the season asks. to walk with one plant across a whole moon, instead of consuming many things at once, is to learn that pace again, in the body, where it counts.

and we do it together, in a circle, because the old work was never done alone. the group carries what the individual cannot. you will feel that.

a single plant, as companion and teacher, each lunar cycle, and the inner work it opens in the body and the soul. you will work with it directly, and it will meet you where words cannot reach and take you exactly where you need to go. what unfolds is different for each person, because the plant answers each of us individually.

mariya holds the framework and makes the journey alongside you. she sets the daily ritual, shares what she has learned from walking with these allies, and guides the meditation and yoga, simple and precise, that prepare the body to receive. her guidance reaches you as recorded passages you can return to in your own time, so her presence stays with you across the whole moon, not only in a single hour. but it is the plant's wisdom that leads. we walk it together.

by the end of a moon you will not be someone new. you will be more nearly yourself, one more layer of what you were carrying set down, and a memory of who you truly are returned to the body.

the first circle opens on the new moon of 14 july, at the height of the year, when the land is in full flower and the light is longest. we begin, fittingly, with a plant of the sun: st. john's wort, which flowers at midsummer and carries light into the places in us that have gone dark. it asks the first courage of the whole journey, the willingness to let light enter what we have kept hidden.

this is the founding circle, and the opening of the first turning year. those who begin here hold the founding price for every moon they return to, for as long as they keep walking with us. from this midsummer height the year will descend, moon by moon, plant by plant, down into the rooted stillness of winter, and then turn and climb again toward the light, the whole wheel of death and return that every living thing moves through. each circle has its own plant, revealed when its moon arrives, so there is time to gather or order what is needed before it begins. we do not show the whole path in advance. you are asked to trust the turning, and to meet each plant when it comes. we begin by opening this first door now.
